ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल क्या है?

ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल (BrahMos Missile) एक सुपरसोनिक क्रूज मिसाइल है जिसे भारत और रूस ने मिलकर विकसित किया है।

मुख्य विशेषताएं

  • गति-: लगभग मैक 2.8 से 3(ध्वनि से ~3 गुना) की गति । 
  • मारक क्षमता: लगभग 290–500 किमी। 
  • विकास-: भारत की DRDO और रूस की NPO Mashinostroyenia द्वारा
  •  यह जमीन, समुद्र, पनडुब्बी और हवा (Su-30MKI) से लॉन्च की जा सकने वाली, “दागो और भूल जाओ” (Fire & Forget) तकनीक पर आधारित अत्यंत घातक मिसाइल है।
  • इससे भारत की रक्षा निर्यात क्षमता मजबूत होती है।
  • इंडो-पैसिफिक क्षेत्र में रणनीतिक संतुलन भी मजबूत होगा।

Launched from land, sea, sub-surface, and air, it boasts a ~450+ km range and high-precision, low-altitude, terrain-hugging “fire and forget” capabilities

  • Speed and Power: Travels at supersonic speeds (Mach 2.8 to 3), possessing nine times more kinetic energy than subsonic missiles.
  • Payload: Carries conventional warheads of 200–300 kg, designed to destroy high-value, hardened targets.
  • Platforms: Deployed by the Indian Army (land), Navy (ship/submarine), and Air Force (Sukhoi-30MKI).
  • Range & Variants: Originally 290 km; upgraded versions now exceed 450 km, with future iterations aiming for 800 km.
